Paw INDY SAYS: I'm used to Cat Bells now, but I'm still careful on the rocky sections. No water on the fell.

Every visit to Cat Bells is different. This time the weather is poor, but there are interesting views in the changing light and the summit is clear of other hikers (a rare occurrence)

Normally I won't set off in the rain, but this is our last day so we have to make an effort. After waiting in vain for a couple of hours, we set off under drizzle.

A last chance to soak in the atmosphere before a long drive home



Start:
1) Walk from Keswick or Portinscale, through Lingholm woods
2) "Honister rambler" bus from Keswick or Portinscale. Alight at "Cat Bells Cattle Grid"
3) Take the Keswick Launch to Hawes End Landing Stage
4) Park at Lingholm. Otherwise very limited car parking at Gutherscale and along the side of Cat Bells
