Looking behind to the Newlands fells and the Causey Ridge

Our first distant view of Halls Fell Ridge

Rex powering ahead up this early part of the slope

The path ahead and seems to be quite straightforward...

Although seen closer up there are a lot of rocky sections

We take a short breather and look back at this part of the path

A quick rest in the wind,

and on the move again before we get cold

A bit of 'hands-on' for this rocky section

and then we squeeze through this narrow gap

Et voilà! After a little more clambering the summit arrives all of a sudden

We take a quick look back at the top part of Halls Fell Ridge,

and then make our way to Atkinson Pike,

which is very close by (as is Mungrisdale Common - you can see the path here)

From Atkinson Pike a short detour E. allows for a good view of Scales Tarn

A quick break for a splash and drink in Blease Gill

before a well-deserved supper and sleep
