It has been raining lightly this morning, but forecast to clear up by around 2pm.
We set off at lunchtime on a circuit from Braithwaite to take in Outerside and plan to arrive at Causey Pike in good weather.
Little did we know that we'd be treated to a marvellous long-lasting rainbow.
Looking back at Braithwaite Lodge
Come on!
Narrow path through the heather to Outerside. Heather is beautiful but scratchy if you are wearing shorts...
Rocks are very slippery when wet, care required
Approaching Causey Pike and all the 'bobbles'
Rising out of Newlands: High Spy, Hindscarth, Robinson
Tricky gully desending Causey Pike, especially after rain
Suddenly a rainbow appears right in front of us...
Full rainbow with rapidly changing light. Derwent Water behind
We arrive at Stoneycroft in full sunshine
