Wainwright Pictorial Guide: The North Western Fells
Paw INDY SAYS: Barrow is an easy walk. On the way down from Stile End the path is very wide and grassy so I can chase a ball !

Barrow is an easy climb but still offers a good stretch of the legs. As the sun peeps out we are fortunate to catch some nice views of Derwent Water and Braithwaite

Start point, map and route information at bottom of page

Barrow is a great fell to take someone who doesn't really like fell-walking.
The gradients are smallooth, the path wide and grassy, and good views are obtained despite the relatively low summit height.
Braithwaite is a picturesque village to visit and it has a couple of tea rooms, a shop and pubs.
Today was overcast and breezy, but dry.
